Statement of Mission
Helping ministry leaders and missionaries overcome the stresses of working in ministry settings by giving them opportunities to rest, recover and refocus.
Statement of Vision
Missionaries often leave the field because of stress, trauma and other preventable reasons. Our heart is to help them stay on their field of service.
Birthed out of a long-time dream of founder Julie Pyle, Missionary Support Network became a California Religious Nonprofit Corporation in 2021 and received IRS 501(c)(3) tax exemption during 2023. Our goal is to see that Christian leaders – missionaries, ministers and marketplace – receive the spirit, soul and body care that they need for success in their missions and carrying out their callings.
REST (body) – from too many hours and days worked. Sabbath/sabbatical is essential.
RECOVER (soul) from intentional or inadvertent negative interactions with other workers or those being served.
REFOCUS (spirit) – on the relationship with God that drew the leaders into their vocations
There is a growing awareness of the need for rest, debriefing and counseling to help ministry workers regain focus and navigate the daily stresses of their work. We are creating a peaceful, safe retreat space in the California Central Coast for such Christian leaders. A place where they can go to rest, restore and refocus.
As we work to build our own hosted-retreat facility in California, we are exploring cooperative agreements with both local and nationwide ministries to provide excellent facilities and services. Our plans include adopting programs to prepare and serve worldwide, cross-cultural kingdom builders through our facility.
From the fall of 2021 through summer of 2024 we had the opportunity to support rest stays for 21 people at a scenic, hosted setting in California. As we are developing our own retreat center, we would like to support 30 people this year.
